E-exploring for Oil and Gas

Drill down through the Web for sites focused on energy -- and its socko impact on markets

Excerpt:

To look more closely at stocks, try Independent Energy Valuation (www.mcdep.com), hosted by Kurt H. Wulff , an investment consultant who worked for 16 years as an oil analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. It's a real plain-Jane of a site, but there's some very good, free content here (time-delayed, following presentation to his clients). Stock recommendations (and discontinuations of same) are comprised of history and growth analysis. And in-depth weekly analyses of energy securities using the "McDep" Ratio (market cap and debt to present value) are posted, including buy/sell recommendations. Closer studies of selected stocks and the sector appear regularly, too.
